Show Your Love Through a Quilled Valentine
Make special Valentines for those that you love with paper quilling. Enjoy this activity with your child and learn the history of this celebrated tradition. Time: 10:30 am
Paid reservations required at $10 per child. Adults are free and will assist their children during the activity.

Feb 16 54th Annual Benefit Tea and Silent Auction
Come and enjoy a presentation by a local author while enjoying tea sandwiches, cookies, tea and coffee. There will also be a silent auction of items donated by local businesses. 
Time: 1:30 - 3:30 PM.

The tea is being held at:
     First Methodist Church
     1500 Ford Street
     Golden, CO 

March 11-14

Colorado Roots 
Colorado Roots is an educational program for home school students that, once a year, focuses on the history of a different ethnic demographic that shaped the history of Colorado. The curriculum includes guest speakers, art and activity projects relevant to the chosen ethnicity. This year focuses on the Ute tribe of Colorado. 
Paid reservations required at $60 for 1st child, $40 for 2nd, $20 for 3rd, $10 for 4th, with a maximum of $150 per family. Adults are free and will assist their children during the activity. 

March 18 Golden Pioneer Museum Book Fair at Barnes and Noble
Looking for something to do inside? Come to Barnes and Noble located in Denver West and be a part of our fundraising event. Let your kids enjoy having stories read to them by a pioneer while you shop. Learn how to spin yarn. Learn how to knit. Listen to an author talk about her books. There is no added cost to you. The Golden Pioneer Museum receives a portion of the day's sales. So, enjoy a day at Barnes and Noble, enjoy the activities, knowing that part of the days sales will be donated to the Golden Pioneer Museum.
April 19 Teddy Bear Tea
It’s tea time at the Golden Pioneer Museum!  Enjoy finger sandwiches and tea with your child and their favorite teddy bear. Learn the history of teddy bears and about traditional tea times.  Times: 10:30 or 1:30 p.m.  Paid reservations required at $10 per child. One adult per child. Adults and teddies are free. Adults will assist their children.

May 10 

Make a May Basket Together 
Have you ever made a May basket full of flowers (and maybe candy) for a friend or loved one? Enjoy this activity with your child and learn the history of this celebrated tradition. Time: 10:30 am
Paid reservations required at $10 per child. Adults are free and will assist their children during the activity. 

June 14

Father’s Day Shadowboxes
Make a shadowbox with items that represent all of the wonderful things that remind you of just how special your father is. Enjoy this activity with your child and learn the history of the Father’s Day tradition. Time: 10:30 am
Paid reservations required at $10 per child. Adults are free and will assist their children during the activity.

July 7-18

Mining Family Stories 
Mining Family Stories is a summer camp. Children will experience hands-on activities that acquaint them with early miner family life, plus their own family traditions and history with a scrapbook with family tree. Guest speakers will introduce the children to special experiences supporting the theme Mining Family Stories. AM Session at 10:30am or PM Session at 1:30pm 
Paid reservations required at $60 for 1st child, $40 for 2nd, $20 for 3rd, $10 for 4th, with a maximum of $150 per family. Adults are free and will assist their children during the activity. 

August 23 Garden Tour
Visit some of the most attractive residential yards in Golden. The Golden Pioneer Museum has arranged with the owners of several homes to volunteer for a benefit tour of their lawns and gardens. Tickets are $10 per person.
Time: 9:00 – 3:00

October 18, 19

Golden Cemetery Tour 
Tour the Golden Cemetery where a guide will introduce you to some "ghosts" of Golden's past. Refreshments will be served. Not recommended for young children. Proceeds benefit the Golden Pioneer Museum. 
1-5pm (last tour at 4pm, one hour tours start every half hour)

Golden Cemetery located at Hwy 6 and Ulysses St.. $15 per person;$12 museum member; paid reservations preferred due to limited space per tour. 

December 6, 13 & 20 

Make a Gingerbread House With Your Child 
Create a decorative gingerbread house with your child and learn the history of gingerbread. 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. 

Paid reservations required at $10 per child. Adults are free and will build the house with their children. 

December 14

28th Annual Holiday House Tour 
A self-guided tour of some of Golden's historic homes. Enjoy a stroll through history and pick up bits of information of how people lived during Golden's historic times. Enjoy discounts on food and beverages from local sponsors. 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. $12 in advance and $14 the day of the tour.
